Sally’s Pins
Let your hope make you glad. Be patient in time of trouble and never stop praying.
ROMANS 12:12
It has been a quiet April Fools’ Day this year. I think I have out grown my pranking ways, but you never know because Betty White’s new show Off Their Rockers is freaking hilarious. I did get my husband this morning by tricking him into thinking he had a tick on his back…it lasted about ten seconds. Then it was on to bigger and better things, like shopping at the mall and playing on Pinterest. Here are my weekly finds from this week’s edition of Sally’s Pins.
Aprils Fools’ Day Food: My sorority sister had this posted on her blog for today, and I thought it was too funny not to share.
ASOS Large Hair Donut: Keeping my fingers crossed that my hair has grown out enough to use this hair donut for cute buns all summer!
Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Peanut Butter Cups: Sometimes combining two good things is a little much…this is not the case here.
Fifty Shades of Grey: Everyone is talking about this book, and it has flown off the bookshelves. Looks like I will be downloading it on the Kindle.
Whisper Green Subway Tile: I have an obsession with classic subway tile, but this kitchen remodel has been thinking a pop of color is kind of nice.
Balloon Surprise: This would be so fun as a birthday surprise or for a baby gender reveal party. So cute!
Artichoke and Asiago Poppers: This is a fun spin to the traditional artichoke dip, and I bet the melt in your mouth goodness is even easier to eat at a party.
Silhouette Accents for the Home: The use of color in these silhouettes is stunning. I cannot stop laughing at the use of two frames for the dogs.
Fashion Star Jersey Dress by Orly Shani: I get a little excited when I watch Fashion Star knowing the styles will be available after the show. There have not been too many things that stuck out to me, but I do love this color block dress. I wish Saks had picked up all three-color options because the blue one was my favorite.
DIY Anthropology Lampshade: The texture on this lampshade adds such dimension to the room. Once I find a cute base, I am totally doing this.
Lemon Poppyseed Pound Cake: I have not eaten poppyseed cake in so long, and this picture just stood out to me on Pinterest. It looks so tasty.
Exotic Sea Coral Necklace: I just love the symbolism of trees, and when I first saw this necklace I thought it was a tree. Turns out it does look more like sea coral, but I am all over anything turquoise and gold.
Towel Tree: Having a tree accent on the wall is such a cute idea for kids. I have typically seen it where shelves are put up on the branches, but the hooks are really fun too.
Wooden Shoe Like to Know by OPI: I heart this shimmery, neutral color! Working in predominantly women based environment, I have started to have a nail polish addiction.
Cauliflower Poppers: Poppers was the theme today. The Artichoke and Asiago Poppers were the indulgent version, but the Cauliflower Poppers are low carb.
Before I sign off, I just wanted to wish my step-sister Riley a Happy Birthday!
What was your best April Fools’ Day prank?

Sal! Instead of getting the ASOS Large Hair Donut, you should try just using an old sock – it gives you the same ballerina bun for free
Here’s a couple of tutorials – I’ve done it before and it looks the same as the picture you included!
