I can’t believe that this journey is halfway over. It has been such an exciting week finding out the baby’s gender and getting to watch our precious little one during the ultrasound, but it is only going to get better when we can reveal it to family and friends this weekend. I’m having such a hard time keeping it a secret. Here is what what I can share:

How Far Along: 20 weeks down, 20 weeks to go.

Total Weight Gain: 14 pounds and baby weights one pound!

Food Cravings: This week I was all about salads, especially Jason’s Deli salad bar. I couldn’t resist eating there two days in a row. The free frozen yogurt didn’t hurt.

What I Miss: Cabernet, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and my favorite Red Truck blend. I miss it so much that I am tempted to start drinking sparkling grape juice.

Symptoms: Heartburn has become a regular part of my day. I keep wondering if the old wives’ tale is true and this baby has a full head of hair.

Baby Movement: It is unmistakable that I can finally feel the baby moving. During our ultrasound this week, the tech had a hard time getting the little one to settle down.

Maternity Attire: I finally bought three maternity shirts at Target that were on clearance. Big belly here I come!

Hurl Factor: I finally hit the point where I couldn’t keep it down. While trying to clean up some dog puke, I ended up visiting the toilet five times. Then it happened again while doing dishes. I think I might have an aversion to cleaning.

Annoyances: My appetite is back in full force. I’m constantly hungry. Trying to stick to smaller meals to keep the heartburn at bay.

Weekly Highlight: I have a huge secret to keep until our gender reveal party Saturday, which falls on our five year anniversary. I can’t stop smiling.
