Sally’s Pins

The real things haven’t changed. It is still best to be honest and truthful; to make the most of what we have; to be happy with simple pleasures; and have courage when things go wrong.

LAURA INGALLS WILDER

This weekend couldn’t have gone any better. The Anniversary/Gender Reveal Party was so much fun with the family, and I can’t wait to share all the details with you tomorrow. Until then, here is this week’s edition of Sally’s Pins:

Tissue Streamer Chandeliers: The simplest decorations can have the biggest impact at a party. I love the idea of using tissue streamers as large chandeliers.

Roasted Veg Tacos with Avocado Cream and Feta: These tacos look heavenly with the vegetables spilling out the side. I love high volume food with low calories. You can get so much more bang for your buck.

Navy Stripes in Entryway: I would say that blue is my favorite color, and it surprises me that I don’t have a single room with a blue color scheme. After seeing this amazing entryway, I think that will need to change.

50 Amazing Weight Watchers Recipes: Weight Watchers is such a great weight loss tool, but what is nice about the recipes is that they give your whole family a healthier option for dinner.

Black and Brown Combo: I used to think that mixing black and brown was one of the biggest fashion mistakes, but now I have come to love the color combo. Can you tell I am ready to break out my boots for Fall?

Bonus Room/Playroom: Not only am I enjoying planning the baby’s room, but I also am looking at making a playroom/office to spend our days in. I love this room for the storage bench, striped walls, and natural fiber shades. The table is super cute too!

How to Break in your Shoes: They say that your shoe size can change when you are pregnant, and I am starting to freak out that it might be happening to me. This technique only takes 2 minutes, and I am hoping it will be a lifesaver.

Pumpkin Pie Cupcakes with Whipped Cream: With football season less than a week away, I have officially moved my mindset to Fall. Bring on as much pumpkin flavored options as possible starting with these cupcakes!

Penny Tile Backsplash: Love this new twist on the traditional penny floor tile, using it as a backsplash! You can grout it white or dark depending on how much pattern you want.

Peppermint Brownies: There is something about minty desserts that leave me so satisfied. These brownies might give the Girl Scout’s Thin Mint Cookies a run for their money.

“Revere Pewter” by Benjamin Moore: This color was described as the best paint color ever on Pinterest, and I have to admit it is the perfect greige combo.

3 Weeks of Cheap Dinner: All of the options are ready in under 15 minutes, which is perfect for someone like me who has a hungry husband when he gets home from work. They all look pretty tasty too.

iPhone Photo Printer: iPhone printer is no bigger than a box of tissues, no software to install and no ink cartridges. In this digital world, this gadget could really help me keep a hard copy of my favorite memories.

DIY Mirror: Using a 5 dollar Walmart mirror you can get this rustic, antique look. It blows my mind the simple tricks you can use to really save money when decorating.

Halloween Pretzel Treats: Pretzel buttons are the easy recipe to date that I have blogged about, so I can’t wait to try this halloween version.

Are you ready for the Fall season?
