24 Week Bump
I prayed for this child and the Lord has granted me what I asked of Him.
1 SAMUEL 1:27
These last ten weeks have flown by! Even though I know I have gotten a lot bigger, it is crazy to look back and see how things have changed in this neck of the woods.
With 16 more weeks to go before the 40-week mark, things could get really scary…and not just in the way I look. Don’t worry I will be documenting every ugly minute of it. Here is what things are looking like today:
How Far Along: 24 weeks
Total Weight Gain: 20 pounds
Food Cravings: Dang you Jason’s Deli Salad Bar! Why do you have to be so convenient and yummy? I especially love their Mini Bran Muffins and free frozen yogurt. The fact that I have eaten there three time this week shows just how out of control my cravings are.
What I Miss: Being able to drink beer while I watch football. It just really adds to the experience. I actually miss going to the games more, but that is kind of a locational problem.
Symptoms: I have been so achy this week. There is no doubt that my ligaments are growing and stretching to accommodate this big boy.
Baby Movement: The movements are noticeable a few times each day. I know the placenta placement is making it more difficult to feel all the activity going on in there, but, hopefully, as he grows I will start feeling him more regularly.
Maternity Attire: My mission is to place an order with Gap/Old Navy Maternity this week. My must buys are skinny jeans (I guess they are only skinny on bottom) and tunics. With the falling temps, it is crucial that I invest in some new pants.
Hurl Factor: There was a hidden egg yolk in my potato salad tonight, and it almost made my whole dinner come up. Yuck! Just thinking about the taste and texture makes my stomach roll.
Annoyances: My little clinger Doug, the dog, has to be on my lap at all times. First of all, there is no room for him to climb aboard. Secondly, I am a human oven right now, and I can barely stand my own body heat, let alone a small dogs.
Weekly Highlight: Trying to figure out what to register for. As clueless as I am, it is always fun to pretend shop for the little man.
Did you have a guide to help you with your baby registry?

First, you look amazing. No – I’m serious.
Second – You crave Jason’s Deli, I craved City Bites. I was there so often – when I would walk in the girl would only ask “Are you having a cookie today or no?” because she knew exactly what I wanted otherwise.
Finally, you totally NEED someone to go with you to register. A friend who has had a baby in the recent past is a great resource to navigate what you MUST have and what the STORE thinks you must have. They are two very different things
Happy for you Sally!

Stephanie you are too sweet! That cracks me up that they knew your order at City Bites. Thank you for the baby registry advice. That makes total sense, but I never would have thought to do that. I’ve been dragging Mel with me, and, sadly, she knows the registry hoops better than I do:)
Sally, you look fantastic! Yes, take a mom with you to register (I left Ned at home!). Baby Bargains is a great resource for baby gear.
Thank you Kari! I will have to check Baby Bargains out. I love following you on Pinterest! You always find the best ideas for children’s project and food. I can’t wait to put some of them to use:)
