27 Week Bump
If we wait until we’re ready, we’ll be waiting for the rest of our lives.
LEMONY SNICKET
After a rough week last week, with finding out I was anemic and having to do extra blood glucose testing, this week has been refreshing. I have been eating extra protein and taking iron supplements and I feel better than ever, and now that I don’t have gestational diabetes, I can still indulge in some sweets for the holiday! Bring on the baby bump.
How Far Along: 27 Weeks
Total Weight Gain: 27 pounds
Food Cravings: With temperatures hitting record lows last week, I was all about the soups. From chowder to chili, I had it all.
What I Miss: My bladder is getting smaller by the minute. It is such an accomplishment when I only wake up once throughout the night to use the bathroom.
Symptoms: Standing on my feet for extended hours is killing my back. I need to make more of an effort to alternate in some sitting sessions.
Baby Movement: The baby is moving all the time now, especially when mint gelato is involved.
Maternity Attire: While waiting on my shipment of maternity clothes, a cold front hit Oklahoma City. I had to make due with what I had, which only included one pair of Old Navy Rock Star Jeggings for the pants department. Luckily, yoga pants became my new best friend. They are a pregnant woman’s lifesaver.
Hurl Factor: Nothing has made me want to hurl as much as the syrup I had to drink for the 3-hour blood glucose test. Just the thought of that mix makes me a little queasy still.
Annoyances: Tying my shoe is nearly impossible these days. I had to go with the pre-tie method and then squeeze my foot in.
Weekly Highlight: My highlight this week had to be finding out that I did not have gestational diabetes. I had even passed all three of the tests with flying colors. Yay!
Did you have any favorite maternity clothes?

Hurray for no diabetes!!! Your bump is so stinking cute, so sad i won’t get to see it next weekend when i’m there.
I know I was so sad when I found out that was the weekend you all were coming, but I’m hoping to see you in two weeks at the game!
