Good looks fade, but a good heart keeps you beautiful forever.
Just finding a restaurant based around grilled cheese and tomato soup made this weekend a success. Seriously, The Mule restaurant is a pregnant women’s dream…well besides the options that included melted Brie cheese. I went with a safer choice of the BCLT, which was grilled cheese version of the classic BLT sandwich. The combination of melted gruyere cheese and crispy bacon was out of this world. The sides consist of french fries, onion rings, or homemade tomato soup. Naturally, I had to go with the soup, and it was the perfect sauce to complement my sandwich. Now I just need to find a time to go back. Until then, here’s this week’s edition of Sally’s Pins.
Kit Kat Cake: It might just be that I am craving Halloween sized Kit Kats, but this cake looks so good! I love how the candy bars form the perfect surrounding fence for the cake.
Candy Corn Pumpkins: It’s no lie that painted pumpkins are my favorite. No mess, less stress and they outlast all the other competitors. Next year, I am totally trying these candy corn versions.
Spray Paint Branches: This is such an easy and powerful accent piece for any party’s color scheme. I love how the branch color choice matches the candleholder trays perfectly.
Autumn Chopped Salad: Salads seem to be more of a summer staple, but this Autumn Chopped Salad might start to change things up. Crispy peans, bacon, and cranberries all chopped into the perfect bite-sized pieces. Yum!
Sea Foam Living Room: I see Sea Foam tiles used all the time to accent kitchens and bathrooms, but I love the use of them to dress up the fireplace in this room. The neutral furnishings look amazing with subtle green/blue hues.
Chewy Butterfinger Cookies: Maybe it’s because it’s October or maybe it’s because I just love candy, but I want to drive to the store right now to get the ingredients to make these cookies.
Jack O’lantern Ballons: Anyone throwing a Halloween party might want to look into this easy way to dress up a space. The Jack O’lantern balloons would be so easy to make, and they look darling on this table surrounding the warm apple cider.
Pecan Caramelized Brie: Three months until I can enjoy my favorite cheese once again. It seems like a long time to hold off on this delicious version.
Dr. Oz’s Top 99 Foods: Gosh, I wish I could be as strict on my diet as Dr. Oz. That man knows how to eat healthy. Using these foods as my guide, I am hoping to work towards a healthier palette.
18 Ways to Deep Clean Your Home: My husband is so scared that I am going to go into crazy nesting mode, but at least we’ll have a cleaner house following these simple steps.
West Elm Ceramic Matters Candleholder: This is a perfect example that accent pieces do not have to be colorful to be show stoppers. I love the claw-like design surrounding the chunky candle.
iPhone Button Decals and Monograms: Doesn’t this monogram make the phone look so fancy? I especially love the use of the gold letter detail.
Soapstone Sink: One of the houses from the Heritage Hills Home Tour had a soapstone sink, and the owner raved that it was her favorite part of the whole house. I am definitely putting this on my wish list.
Shrimp Satay with Thai Peanut Sauce: I keep lingering over the large shrimp options at Whole Foods. I might have to pick some up next time I am there to try out this recipe.
Birchbox: I have so many friends who rave about Birchbox. For $10 a month, you get a box of high-end beauty products in the mail every four weeks that are custom to your skin type. Such a fun way to sample products and find which ones work best for you.
