Welcome Easton

As soon as I saw you, I knew an adventure was going to happen.

WINNIE THE POOH

So it’s been awhile my friends. The Christmas vacation turned into a maternity leave sooner than expected, and on January 1, 2013 we welcomed a new member into our family.

On New Year’s Day at 8:02 pm, Easton Jacob was born weighing in at 8 lbs 4 oz and measuring 20.5 inches long. To say that we were surprised when my water broke, two weeks early at 3:30 in the morning, is an understatement. That day I went from being scared out of my mind, to completely shocked with how easy the whole experience was.

From the moment we saw him, it was love at first sight.

The pugs even felt the same way.

It was no surprise when this kid came out with a full head of hair, based on the outrageous amount of heartburn I experienced and blogged about for 38 weeks.

Despite many sleepless nights, we are finally getting the hang of this parenting thing. I knew babies needed to eat ever 2-3 hours, but I didn’t realize this meant that I would be spending 1/3 of my day feeding our child. At the same time, he really is a wonderful baby, only crying when he is hungry or has left us a surprise in his diaper. Otherwise, he is perfectly content taking in his world from the bouncer seat.

While we think he is perfect, the jury’s still out on what he thinks of us.

I can’t wait to keep updating you guys on how it’s going, but for right now, it’s kind of juggling act adjusting to our new lifestyle.

I feel so thankful to be able to share this amazing time in my life with such wonderful readers. I can’t wait to detail all the ways that my life grows and changes to accommodate our newest member.

What’s changed in your life this year?
