Sally’s Pins

Everything I needed to know about creativity I learned by making mistakes.

Is it weird to need a vacation after a vacation? It always takes me a day or two to readjust after being out-of-town. I definitely used this weekend to get back into the swing of things…by doing a whole lot of nothing. It was wonderful!

I managed to get together twice with friends this weekend to eat at the Midtown district. We dinned at Iguana Mexican Grill and S&B Burger Joint, and I would highly recommend both. I hadn’t tried out S&B yet, but it was delicious. They even serve a sweet potato fries, with a 50/50 option of sweet potato mixed with regular. Yummy! I felt kind of guilty eating out when I could have been trying some of the tasty recipes I found on Pinterest this week. Here’s this weeks edition of Sally’s Pins:

Chess Squares: A copycat recipe for Neiman Marcus Brownies! There is only 5 ingredients (yellow cake mix, eggs, cream cheese, butter, and powdered sugar), and the recipe is super easy to make.

Built-In Craft Table: A craft table that folds up into a picture frame on the wall. This is such a space saver, and it keeps crafting supplies so organized and easy to access.

25 Adult Birthday Party Ideas: I love celebrating birthdays! I don’t believe that just because your past a certain age, you can’t go all out for your birthday. This site has fun ideas for all ages (30th, 40th, 50th, 60th, etc.).

Stencil Wall Tutorial: Stenciling is the way to go over wallpaper. This site has illustrated, step-by-step stenciling instructions, techniques, and tips. Plus there is a link to the Etsy site that offers the stencils.

34 DIY Headboard Ideas: I hate furniture sets. I prefer my rooms to have more of an eclectic look. The best place to start with bedroom design is the headboard, and this site gives so many options to design your room around.

Home Office: I can’t even pinpoint what I love most about this room. From the West Elm desk to the chevron lamp to the painted furniture to the black and gold mirror, I love everything!

Peanut Butter Pudding Cookies: These cookies had me when I saw the Reeses Pieces. I bet they are so moist and delicious with the added pudding mix.

Super Cute Baby Shower Favor: Giveaway OPI’s “It’s a Girl” color with a fun tag. This is such an easy gift, and it is a crowd pleaser since all girls love nail polish.

S’mores on a Stick: These would be so fun to set out at a party, and they look really easy to make. It’s nice to have lots of things that can just be thrown together at the last minute when hosting.

Newborn Love Photo: With a newborn on the way, I can’t stay away from the baby stuff on Pinterest. This photo is so sweet! I can’t wait to get one of my own.

Twice Baked Potato Casserole: It tastes just like Twice Baked Potatoes, but it is so much easier to make in one dish. I want this creamy side dish with everything I eat!

iPad Slide Wall Mount: So many recipes come from online these day, and most are from Pinterest for that matter. This is the perfect item for the kitchen to making cooking easier.

Frozen Grapes: Just freeze green grapes to keep white wine cold. This is such a wonderful presentation, and it doesn’t water anything down. Brilliant!

Fresh-Frozen Herbs in Oil, Butter, Broth or Water: I have let precious herbs expire too many times in my life. This is a great way to preserve them and save money.

Staircase Photo Collage: Memory walls are a great way to showcase your favorite family pictures. I love how this one is placed on the staircase with varying frames. The “H” is amaze balls too!

How do you choose which photos to frame in your house?
