Remember tonight… for it is the beginning of always.

This past weekend was full of happiness, laughter, and tears, as my friend Emily was joined in marriage to her fiancé Derek. When it comes to fabulous fashion sense, my gorgeous friend has got it going on.

The whole wedding was planned to showcase what makes Emily and Derek so special. Their love of fashion, beer, burgers, and love was displayed perfectly, especially in this groom’s cake.

I might be the biggest fan of a well designed wedding invitation, so the second I laid my eyes on this bride’s whimsical design, I could not wait for the big day to get here.

There was a long engagement period, which kept me on the edge of my chair in anticipation. We made sure to celebrate along the way, though, which I shared here and here.

When the weekend finally arrived, I knew above all that good food and drinks would be the theme of the weekend. It started with lunch at La Bodega, a tapas restaurant.

Followed by a catered rehearsal dinner, where all of our friends came together…to enjoy some fine wine.

When the big day finally arrived, the ceremony was held at The Green Roof in downtown Kansas City. The location showcased Emily’s love of modern elegance and Derek’s passion for the outdoors.

Afterwards it was time to celebrate! We were off to the reception at the Boulevard Brewery, which could not have been a better location for this beer-loving bride and groom.

There is something about the clean lines and contemporary feeling of the Boulevard Brewery that fit so well with their style. Man they are going to have some beautiful children!

From the butter cream cake to the creamy avocado bacon salad to the salmon sliders, the food might have been my favorite part…if I had not seen how stunning Emily was in her dress.

I sure do love this girl, and I am so thankful that she asked me to be a part of her big day. It made me so happy seeing her marry her best friend.

I will definitely not forget the hilarious ending to the ceremony, officiated by one of her medical school classmates, when he said, “By the power vested in me by the state of Missouri and www.universalministeries.com, I now pronounce you husband and wife.”
