23 Week Bump

Sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart.

WINNIE THE POOH

It has been a great week on the baby front. My doctor’s appointment could not have gone any better. After thinking that I was going to have so many hurdles to tackle in the last trimester due to placenta previa (a condition where the placenta forms around your cervix), I found out that the problem had resolved itself. I had finally gotten my head wrapped around the idea of having a cesarean section, and now, hopefully, I need to start preparing for a much different journey. I am so thankful for my and baby’s health this week!

How Far Along: 23 weeks

Total Weight Gain: 19 pounds

Food Cravings: Egg Sandwiches! I just had to have them for our tailgate party, and then I ended up making them again for a friend’s birthday celebration.

What I Miss: My old bra size. These things are getting out of control.

Symptoms: I am definitely starting to notice the itchy abdomen. My stomach feels huge this week!

Baby Movement: I found out that my placenta is on the anterior side, which makes it more difficult at this stage for Chris and me to feel the baby move. I guess I cannot complain as long as the baby is healthy.

Maternity Attire: My larger sized dresses are being tested to their limit. I think they only have a few weeks left in them, so I better start my maternity clothes hunt a.s.a.p.

Hurl Factor: Unfortunately, nothing makes me nauseas these days, and I can definitely tell by my growing belly.

Annoyances: My stomach feels stretched to its max this week. I guess it is usually towards the end of the night…after dinner. I am hoping smaller portion sizes will help with this crazy feeling of fullness.

Weekly Highlight: Finding out that my placenta previa had resolved itself and that all of my vitals and baby’s were perfect!

What challenges did you face during your pregnancy?

22 Week Bump

A baby will make love stronger, days shorter, nights longer, bankroll smaller, home happier, clothes shabbier, the past forgotten, and the future worth living for.

UNKNOWN

Welp, I am definitely feeling the full effects of pregnancy, heartburn, hot flashes and hunger pangs. I am one big swollen mess! It is not really a glamorous job, but someone has to do it. Did I mention it is worth every minute?

How Far Along: 22 weeks

Total Weight Gain: 18 pounds and I am still hungry!

Food Cravings: Everything Bagels! I guess if I can’t have stinky cheeses, bagels are the next best thing.

What I Miss: Wearing closed toed shoes. I am sticking to sandals for now, but I have a strong suspicion that my feet might have increased a size.

Symptoms: My stomach will not stop growling. Even in the middle of the night, I wake up starving.

Baby Movement: The movement is really sporadic, except when I am laying down at night. I usually do not notice it unless I am totally still, but it is the coolest feeling ever!

Maternity Attire: Slowly but surely I am adding some strange things to my attire. Shorts are all I can stand in this Oklahoma heat, but the strange tummy panel does not help to cool me off.

Hurl Factor: Spicy foods are off the table, including my beloved Chipotle. This is more of a heat than hurl factor, but the heartburn is just not worth it.

Annoyances: I am hot all the time! The 100+ degree weather is not helping. Taking a page from Father of the Bride Part II, I am confining myself to the indoor air conditioning.

Weekly Highlight: Finalizing my nursery plans and starting to order items! I cannot wait to get the Rock Star prints I ordered from Etsy in the mail this week.

What is your favorite thing about your nursery?
