Double-Delight Cookies

Find something you’re passionate about and stay tremendously interested in it.

JULIA CHILD

Not all cookies are worth their weight in gold. Commercially prepared Chips Ahoy! Cookies do not even compare to a homemade, hot version of the real thing. When I am forfeiting my daily calories for a warm cookie, I want it to be pretty darn good.

With two co-workers’ birthdays last week, I put a lot of thought into what kind of cookies to bring in. Everyone devoured the Pillsbury Double-Delight Peanut Butter Cookies I made, and this got me thinking that a chocolate chip version would be worth its weight in gold.

Double-Delight Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:

¼ cup granulated sugar

¼ cup pecans, finely chopped

½ cup Nutella Hazelnut Spread

½ cup powdered sugar

1 roll Pillsbury refrigerated chocolate chip cookies

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a small bowl, combine sugar and pecans. Set aside.

2. Mix together Nutella and powdered sugar. Form into 24 (1-inch) balls.

3. Divide roll of cookie dough into 24 flat pieces. Wrap dough completely around Nutella balls.

4. Roll cookie dough balls in the pecan mixture.

5. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes.

6. Enjoy!

My favorite part is a toss up between the sugar nut topping and the creamy chocolate filling.

The dusting on top lends the cookie the perfect amount of saltiness to make eating it worth every bite.

Do not waste your time and calories on boring cookies when these can be made in under 20 minutes, and they complement milk quite nicely.

Slutty Brownies Made Easier

A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.

COCO CHANEL

Notice something familiar?

After finding these slutty brownies from What’s Gaby Cooking on Pinterest, I knew I had to make some for the bachelorette party this past weekend.

I had a million things to get done on my To-Do List last week, so I needed a quick simple way to make these goodies. Insert the cheat method to baking, buying premade and box mixes.

Here is how I spun this recipe into an easier version…

Slutty Brownies

Ingredients:

1 package cookie dough

1 package Oreo cookies

1 box brownie mix (might need oil and eggs too)

Directions:

1. Flatten cookie dough and line baking dish.

2. Layer Oreos on top.

3. Prepare brownie mix and pour over cookies.

4. Follow baking directions from brownie mix.

5. Enjoy!

There is nothing about these brownies not to enjoy. Chocolate Chip Cookies…good. Oreos…good. Brownies…so much better with the cookie addition.

The brownie batter slips between the Oreos for a chewy perfection. What an amazing combination!

These brownies were just what a bunch of party girls needed. They also would be great for any party, but you might change the name to protect the innocent.

Salted Chocolate Chip Cookies

A good sense of humor is an escape valve for the pressures of life.

RICHARD G SCOTT

If you did not know, my husband loves to hunt…as is evident here. Well this weekend he is planning on going to western Oklahoma to hunt turkey with his co-workers. Being as they like to read my blog, desserts were requested for the trip.

Tonight I am making my favorite chocolate chip cookies. For the recipe, I simply use the Nestle Toll House recipe that comes on the back of the Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels, but with my own spin of course. This means that they are extra salty!

Salted Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:

2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 ½ teaspoons salt (extra ½ teaspoon from recipe)

1 cup butter, softened

¾ cup granulated sugar

¾ cup packed brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 large eggs

2 cups Nestle Toll House Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels

1 ½ cup chopped pecans (extra ½ cup to keep it salty)

Directions:

1. Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees. Beat butter, sugar, and vanilla in a large mixing bowl. Beat in eggs, one at a time.

2. Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in a small bowl. Slowly combine ingredients.

3. Fold in chocolate and nuts.

4. Place one spoonful of dough onto ungreased pan. Bake for 10 to 11 minutes.

5. Enjoy!

When it comes to chocolate chip cookies, the saltier and crispier the better!

When using one cup of butter, the cookies tend to brown quickly, so be careful not to take out of the oven too early. I like to cook them the full 11 minutes.

The extra nuts are also one of my favorite factors with these cookies. Yummy!

I hope the boys enjoy the twist on this old time favorite!
