Kashi Diet – Day 1
If you are not willing to look stupid, nothing great is ever going to happen to you.
DR. GERGORY HOUSE
If you haven’t gathered by now, I love any type of crazy diet. By far the craziest diet I have ever heard someone go on was a Kashi Products Diet. Even though it might seem strange, it’s actually kind of smart to focus on natural, organic foods that can be eaten on the go. Plus I really love that they avoid high fructose corn syrup.
This week I am going on try the Kashi Diet! Breakfast, lunch, snacks, dinner, and dessert, you name they make it. Their foods cover most of the main ingredients, especially when it comes to whole grains, but I will be adding in fruits, veggies, and dairy to supplement. Wish me luck people.
Breakfast – Cinnamon Harvest Cereal
I started my day with one of my favorite cereals, Cinnamon Harvest. Topped with fresh blueberries and skim milk, it couldn’t get better. The whole wheat slowly metabolized to keep me full until lunch.
Lunch – Chicken Enchilada
Natural Shredded White Chicken and Vegetables inside a 7 Whole Grain Tortilla Covered in Ancho Sauce Sprinkled with Cheddar Cheese, with a Side of Kashi 7 Whole Grain & Vegetable Pilaf.
Yummy! The enchilada was bursting with creamy spinach filling, and I almost licked the Ancho Sauce right off my plate it was so good.
My favorite part of the meal was the nutty Pilaf. The flavors were simply perfect.
Snack – Dark Chocolate Coconut Granola Bar
I don’t know who was more excited to try the bar Doug or me.
Sorry Doug, this bar is dripping with chocolate, and chocolate is no bueno for dogs.
Dinner – Three Cheese Penne
Asiago, Feta and Cheddar cheese Sauce over Kashi 7 Whole Grain Penne with Shiitake Mushrooms, Roasted Red Onions, Red Peppers and Yellow Carrots.
I almost feel guilty eating cheesy pasta for dinner, but it only has 320 calories. The yellow carrots were amazing too, hidden amongst the pasta and cheese. My kind of dinner!
I definitely see what draws people into Kashi products, they’re delicious and made with real ingredients!
What’s your favorite Kashi product?
