Hawaiian Pizza

What screws us up most in life is the picture in our head of how it is supposed to be.

Wednesday is National Deviled Egg Day! For those of you deviled egg lovers, there is an easier way to get that hardboiled deliciousness. If you love hardboiled eggs as much as we do, you should try the Egg Genie.

We love ours so much, I blogged about it here. Another favorite of ours is pineapple pizza, so tonight I am making…

Hawaiian Pizza

Ingredients:

2 pieces Stonefire Tandoori Naan

1 cup pizza sauce

1 ½ cup mozzarella cheese

4 slices ham

½ cup pineapple

Directions:

1. Pre-heat oven to 450 degrees. My favorite pizza crust is Stonefire Tandoori Naan. I bought mine from a health food store here, but it can also be found at Wal-Mart grocery stores.

2. Prep topping by finely chopping ham and pineapple.

3. Place Naan on a baking sheet. Spread sauce evenly on top of bread.

4. Layer cheese, ham, and pineapple over pizza. Bake in the oven for ten minutes.

5. Enjoy!

My husband and I are a little obsessed with pineapple pizza. We even will order the Hawaiian sans ham on occasion. There is something about the sweet, tangy pineapple that makes our taste buds sing.

Simple dinners are the best, and it doesn’t get much easier than this pizza.

Combined with the chewy Naan bread, this pizza couldn’t get any better. Unless you top it with crushed red pepper. Then it is out of this world amazing!

I am going to try and enjoy my pizza while I can. There is a major hailstorm rolling into the metro area and I think everyone is a little on edge.

They say dogs can sense danger, so looking at these two I’m a little worried.

Will you be making deviled eggs tomorrow?

Egg Genie

I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I’ve ended up where I needed to be.

DOUGLAS ADAMS

It amazes me that it has been ten years since I graduated from high school.

I grew up watching each and every movie from the American Pie series, so I think it is only fitting that their reunion movie comes out the same year as my ten-year reunion. I am even more excited that the whole original cast is back, when only some participated in the previous movies.

The best thing about going to a high school reunion is seeing how everyone’s lives and looks have changed. This is going to ring true for the American Pie Reunion as well.

A good thing can last forever, but so can a good appliance. One useful kitchen gadget I have come to love is the Egg Genie.

I hate making hard-boiled eggs. I always end up over cooking them and cleaning up the explosive mess. The Egg Genie takes out all the work, so I can enjoy healthy egg whites with my salad.

Directions:

1. Add water to Egg Genie.

2. Poke hole in egg.

3. Place eggs in rack.

4. Plug in and wait for the timer to go off.

In minutes you have seven hard-boiled eggs to peel.

But make sure you poke a hole to release the pressure or else you might end up in a mess like this.

We love our Egg Genie! Three egg whites have under 50 calories and are a filled with protein. They are the perfect food choice to get ready for a high school reunion?

What were you most looking forward to with your reunion?
