The Zumba workout intrigues me. There is something to literally dancing your butt off that sounds kind of fun. It reminds me of my college days when my friend Katie and I would throw down on the dance floor.
I’m not saying it was always pretty, but we definitely felt the burn.
After all the beer that we drank, it had to help work off all the extra calories we consumed. The trick to not gaining the freshman fifteen, dance your butt off.
Everyday while I put in miles on the treadmill, I watch the Zumba class. It is making me slightly depressed because I might be too intimidated to join. The room is packed for one thing (I guess it is the hot spot in my gym), while over half of the workout machines are open . The group is made up of women of all ages, but it is the older ones that really scare me. They must have been going to this class for years because they have that dance down. I imagine them showing off their moves to their husbands when they get home because they are straight professionals.
I might try one class if I can convince someone to go with me. It looks like I can’t count on my co-workers to go because when asked Kristen responded, “zumba seems like cult worship to me.”
It looks like I will be sticking to my running schedule and eating…
Healthy Lunch Idea
Ingredients:
1 Mission Jalepeno Cheddar tortilla
1 cup Romaine lettuce, chopped
2 slices turkey
1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, sliced
1/4 cup 2% reduced fat cheddar cheese, shredded
2 Tablespoons light ranch
Directions:
1. Place lettuce on tortilla.
2. Add any tasty toppings you desire. I put in turkey, tomato, and cheese.
3. Spread dressing over top.
4. Roll wrap together tightly.
5. Wrap in Saran wrap to make it easy to grab on the go.
These wraps are so easy to make on Sunday, and then Chris can just grab them on his way to work. Plus you can fill them with as many veggies as you like to keep you full all day. The most important thing about healthy lunches is that they are easy to grab so you have something when you get hungry.
I love making lunches for my hubby!
He has some pretty impressive dance moves that he likes to keep up his sleeve.
