Gift Basket

I am still determined to be cheerful and to be happy in whatever situation I may be, for I have also learnt from experience that the greater part of our happiness or misery depends upon our dispositions and not upon our circumstances.

MARTHA WASHINGTON

Today was such a sad day. To celebrate my boss’ retirement, our company threw her a party tonight. They say that having the right boss is the single biggest determent of workplace satisfaction. After working for Patti, I totally agree. She is one of those people who can walk up to anyone and make him or her feel totally comfortable. It could be her sweet Minnesotan accent or just the fact that she exudes happiness. I hope I can learn from Patti and be happy in any situation.

With Patti’s future departure, I decided to transfer to a new branch, so I was looking forward to seeing my old co-workers tonight. This gave me the perfect opportunity to deliver a wedding present as well. I am a little obsessed with giving any present as a wrapped basket (or bowl for the matter).

Gift Basket

1. I start out by finding a base to fill. Today I chose a pretty bowl and filled it with a cute cutting board.

2. I threw in some stuffing with the gifts and card.

3. I wrap everything in cellophane, sealing it with a ribbon bow.

4. Viola! Perfect present presentation!!!

Here is another example of my basket love:

It was for a baby shower I attended. Anyone loves a good basket…basket=multi-purpose. Then I filled it with items from their registry, and I took the same steps for the perfect presentation.

Another sweet touch I added to the baskets, were some amazing cards that my friend brought back from Africa. Here are the details:

They are so cute! I just love the wire animals on the front.

Needless to say after the party, there wasn’t much cooking going on in my house. Chris settled on some delicious Morning Star Corn Dogs. I can guarantee that one cannot tell the difference from a real corn dog, and these only have 150 calories. They top the list for healthy junk food.

Look at these puppies. They totally look like a real corn dog.

I was jonesing for some leftover Falafel Sandwich, so was Nellie. Drool…

Leftovers are the best! Being a food blogger does mean that I happen to have a lot of leftovers, so I just couldn’t resist tonight.

Have you had any amazing bosses?
