The Best of Sally Spins

All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become.

BUDDHA

To kickoff Sally Spins Blogiversary Week, I wanted to share with you the posts that received the most hits over the last year. To say that it didn’t shock me, as to what people were viewing, would be a total lie. It turns out people like a good party, healthy options, and shocking twists or combinations on food. I’m definitely taking note for next year. There was no surprise when it came to my top viewed page. It was actually the first recipe I posted to my blog and my personal favorite. Without further ado, here is a special edition of Sally’s Pins, the top 15 viewed posts over the last year.

It’s not who you are that holds you back. It’s who you think you’re not.

I have been a busy bee today. After getting in a solid workout this morning, I had to take Chris to have an MRI on his shoulder. Looks like it might be surgeryville on that one. I didn’t mind having to be the designated driver for this appointment because it gave me time to do a little shopping!

I tried to go to Williams-Sonoma on Monday, but they were closed to do inventory. What! I didn’t know a store could just be closed during mall business hours. Good thing Chris’ appointment was right around the corner so I could go there today.

I want everything in Williams-Sonoma, like this place setting with the artichoke and moss place card.

My stomach growls every time I walk in that store…it could also be because I was there at lunchtime but still. To satisfy my hunger, I headed to another one of my favorite places, Whole Foods.

The salad bar was calling my name, specifically the feta blend cheese they had today. Yummy! I knew Chris would be pretty hungry after fasting all morning, so I picked him up a chicken salad wrap and some honey mustard kettle chips to enjoy once he got back to work. Honey mustard kettle chips are the bomb.com.

Produce is one thing Whole Foods does really well. The overwhelming amount of veggies made me want to make this for dinner…

Gourmet Veggie Pizza

Ingredients:

Pre-made pizza crust

½ cup ranch dressing

1 cup spinach

½ zucchini, thinly sliced

½ cup tomatoes

½ cup red onion

½ cup quartered artichoke hearts

½ cup tomatoes, chopped

½ cup mushrooms, chopped

½ cup mozzarella, shredded

½ cup cheddar cheese, shredded

1 teaspoon oregano

1 teaspoon garlic powder

Directions:

1. Spread ranch dressing over crust.

2. Layer vegetables on top.

3. Sprinkle with cheeses, oregano, and garlic powder. Bake according to pizza crust directions (I did 20 minutes at 400 degrees).

4. Enjoy!

This pizza spin came from my love of Papa Murphy’s Gourmet Veggie Pizza. It is insanely delicious!

Okay, I really thought the ranch was going to be so gross on a pizza, but it really works well with the veggies. Papa Murphy’s does use a cream sauce, but I can’t tell if it really is ranch.

This pizza gives Amy’s Roasted Vegetable Pizza a run for its money.
