Ted’s Cafe Escondido

For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.

AUDREY HEPBURN

We are on puppy control at our house. While my friend Mel is taking a class in Houston, we have a house full of four dogs!

There are a few things I came to realize while she and her dogs stayed here, and one of them was that my dogs do not really like to share their space…meaning they (Doug the rescue pug) got into a habit of marking their territory when I was not looking.

I am determined to make this week go smoothly, so I decided to take the boundary issue into my own hands.

That is right. I cut their square footage in half, so I can keep my eyes on them. Welcome to Sally’s boarding kennel. Now I am just praying that no one comes to the door to see this lovely new arrangement.

Before leaving town this week, we got the chance to give Mel an insight to the Mexican phenomenon, Ted’s Cafe Escondido, in Oklahoma City.

Ted’s Cafe Escondido

Chris and I have visited Ted’s a few times now. It is weird but I happen to favor Kansas’s Mexican cuisine over the style down here. You would think that the closer you got to the boarder, the better it would be. It all comes down to the salsa, and I have not quite put my finger on it yet why I prefer the northern style.

Ted’s grew on me though. At first, I was not impressed. The place is always crazy busy because people down here love that place! I think the reason they choose Ted’s is because of their amazing service. They have employees whose only roll is to refill the complimentary items. They like to keep their people happy and content.

In Oklahoma, Mexican food is a whole new ballgame. Not only do you get complimentary chips and salsa, but at Ted’s you also get:

Queso

Relish

Tortillas

Sopapillas

I guess when it all comes down to it, Mexican food is Mexican food, and it all usually looks the same.

So I do appreciate all the extra perks you get when dinning in Oklahoma, because the freshly made tortillas are pretty hard to resist. Above all good service is what really matters to me, so thank you Ted’s for your stand out assistance.

*Sorry for the poor picture quality. Fingers crossed that I will be getting a new phone soon.
