Sally’s Pins

Love has nothing to do with what you are expecting to get – only with what you are expecting to give – which is everything.

KATHERINE HEPBURN

I called it! I knew that Emily was going to pick Jef in the end. How could she not? He was so sweet and genuine. Not only did Jef have an eloquent way with words, but he seems live life to the fullest with his playful side. It sure seems like those two are going to be one of the few from the show that make it.

My weekend was full of love stories. Though I was most excited to catch The Bachelorette last night, some friends and I went to see Moonrise Kingdom on Saturday. It did not disappoint. I laughed throughout the entire movie. Another thing I love are this week’s finds for Sally’s Pins.

JCrew Drop Earrings: I am dying over the preppy color combination in these earrings. I hope they haven’t sold out on JCrew yet.

$40 DIY Desk: You have got be kidding me! I can’t believe that this desk was made for only $40. I hope the directions are easy to follow because I am going to tackle this project.

Guiltless Chicken Parmesan: It always amazes me how guiltless options can taste so good. You really don’t have to sacrifice flavor when it comes to healthy eating.

50 of the Best Kids’ Birthday Party Themes: Having a theme makes throwing a party so much more fun. This website has so many good examples.

Extra Bling for the Ring Finger: The sparkle and solid combination is perfect on these nails. Plus having extra shine on your ring finger is always a good thing!

Banana Smores: Banana desserts are my favorite! In the summer, having a grilled dessert option is a fun twist. My mouth is watering just looking at the oozing marshmallow.

How to Fake Calligraphy: I admit I have ugly handwriting, so any tips are welcome. With my new chalkboard, I need to learn how to fake calligraphy, and this is the blog to teach me.

17 Tips to Make Your Life Easier: From how to reheat pizza to shaving your legs, this website has so many good suggestions. You can learn a lot from a quick read here.

Black and Pink Color Combo: I am drawn to this bold combination. The large necklace is a great way to dress up any outfit, but I particularly love the neon pink!

Chili Bar: It’s amazing how many options you have with Chili. Come Fall, this idea will be perfect for football season.

Asymmetrical Bob Hairstyle: This picture makes me want to cut off all my hair. I love the added waves to the short bob. There are so many ways to style long hair, but this shows how fun keeping it short can be.

Cleaning Calendar: Maybe printing a cleaning calendar will help keep me on top of things. I’m really good at not having clutter, but when it comes to deep cleaning, I fail miserably.

Secretary Desk: Remove a drawer and add a hinge to its face for a mini desk or buffet tray. Ever since I saw a similar desk at Pottery Barn, I have been dying to get one. Little did I know how easy and inexpensive it could be.

How to Find the Best Deals at Target: In my efforts to be a smart shopper, checking out this schedule is really going to help me out. I had no idea stores had specific days to promote certain deals.

Skinny Margarita: All you need is a can of frozen diet limeade, 12 ounces tequila, 24 ounces Diet Spring, and one Corona Light. I can’t wait to try these next summer.

What is your favorite summer drink?
