Class Reunion Ideas

Some day you will be old enough to start reading fairy tales again.

C.S. LEWIS

I fall into the category of people that married their high school sweetheart. One of the perks of knowing my husband since we were thirteen is that there can’t be too many skeletons in his closet…that I don’t know about. One of the downsides is the baggage that comes along with him being our high school class president.

This means that it is his responsibility, along with the other class officers, to plan our 10 year reunion, which means since he is a workaholic that it is kind of my responsibility to help out. Now if only Pinterest had been around when I was the social chair of my sorority. It sure does make party planning easier. Here is my Mood Board inspirations:

For decorations, I want to make a 10 year version of this Picture Perfect Idea using pictures of my classmates.

I am covering all the food for the party, so I searched out easy ideas with beautiful presentations like these veggie cups.

I gravitate towards any variation of a Caprese Salad, so these Piruletas Italianas are a must.

After seeing the Stuffed Baguette last week, I knew an Italian theme was developing.

So instead of cocktail meatballs, I wanted to have them dripping with marinara sauce to stay on theme.

The easiest dessert I have ever made was the Slutty Brownies for my friend’s bachelorette party, so naturally I have to bring those.

When making food for 100 people, I think it is best to have a few really good ideas and plenty of each for everyone.

What is the largest party you have catered to?

Sally’s Pins

Peace, it does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.

Is Sunday again? Man this week flew by after having the holiday on Monday, but I still had plenty of time to find some great things on Pinterest. Here is this week’s edition of Sally’s Pins.

Apfel-Lollies: Instead of using whole apples for carmel/chocolate apples use slices. Brilliant!

Repurposed Shutter Wall Display: The shutters are perfect for pinning up keepsakes, and it adds a window-like dimension to the room.

Reeses Chocolate Peanut Butter Rice Krispie Treats: Um yeah….rice krispie treats are so tempting, but with Reese Chocolate Peanut Butter too, that’s insane.

Dip Dye Cupcake Liners: Taking a plain liner to something spectacular seems so easy with this method.

Stuffed Baguette: I love how the pieces look after being cut from the baguette. What a fun treat for a party!

Newspaper Used as Weed Blocker: Repurposing newspaper to stop weeds sounds great to met. I got to try this!

Cinnamon Churro Chex Mix: This mix would not last long in my house. The sweet cinnamon dusting on the cereal makes my mouth water.

Mint Green Watch: This gold and mint green watch from Anthropology is too cute. I just adore anything mint green.

Summer Pops: Pour champagne over popsicles and serve. This is perfect for a hot summer day.

Side Walk Chalk Photos: This is so adorable, and I bet it is a fun way to get kids involved for the photo shoot.

Skillet Lasagna (275 calories): I love me some lasagna, so with only 275 calories this is a wonderful dinner option.

A Selection of Must Have Wedding Photos: I would consider photography to be one of my hobbies, so I like these suggestions as go-to guide.

15 Ways to Pin Back Your Hair: Battling the humidity in Oklahoma, I will need all 15 of these.

Piruletas Italianas: I can’t wait to serve these at my next party. They are so eye catching, and I love the minced basil topping.

Memory Jar: What a great idea to put memories made throughout the year in a jar and open them on New Years Eve to enjoy.

Do you have a fun way to savor memories over the year?
