OKC Bloggers

The work involved will make the result so much more rewarding.

UNKNOWN

It has been over two months since I attended OKC Bloggers Night Out. I had no idea what to expect going into the event, but when I left I felt recharged and grateful to have found like-minded individuals who share a love of blogging.

On that night I learned a few things:

1. I needed a legitimate business card to pass out…instead of writing my blog on sticky notes.

Done and Done

2. I needed to join the world of Twitter to stay connected with these amazing ladies.

3. These are some talented women! From painting to design to parenting to Etsy shops, I could learn a lot from their blogs…or just become a consumer of their marvelous products.

Case in point, new phone cover

After taking in so much from our last meeting, I have been counting down the days until the next event. With a Speed Mentoring session in store for today, I am sure I will leave with more insights to improve this little blog called sallyspins.com.

Do you get together with bloggers in your town?

BLT Bites

Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.

After blogging for four months, I decided it was time to start a Facebook Page for Sally Spins. I have been posting on and off on my personal page about my favorite posts, but I like the idea of letting people decide if they want to be updated on what I am making each day. It is so convenient following blogs through Facebook because I can scroll through my News Feed to see which ones I want to read that day.

Personally I would rather read about Healthy Mint Oreo Shakes verses Bacon Wrapped Dove. By liking my page you can do just that. Just click here to follow me:

I also have an option in my sidebar if you decide to like me later.

I also am ashamed to admit that I am new to the Twitter world. Facebook became a quick obsession for me in college, so you would think I would have been on the Twitter bandwagon as well. Nope…just started a few weeks ago. Boy was I missing out. I know more about Black Shelton and the Kardashian clan than I should admit. I also am partial to Eat This, Not That!, Foodbuzz, Cooking Light and Hungry Girl to keep up on healthy eating. Plus I can follow things happening in OKC. I feel so connected right now.

If you want to follow me on twitter, I am @SallySpins.

If you are not part of the Twitter world go and get an account. You will not regret it. You never have to tweet a thing, and can simply enjoy reading updates about things that interest you. Hopefully Sally Spins will be one of them, so you can read up on…

BLT Bites

Ingredients:

1 pound bacon

½ cup Greek yogurt

½ cup mayonnaise

1 carton cherry tomatoes

1 bag fresh spinach

Directions:

1. Cook bacon according to directions.

2. Cut tip off of tomatoes and scoop out the center.

3. Mix yogurt, mayonnaise, and bacon in bowl. Make sure to finely chop bacon (not like my pictures shows).

4. Put mixture in a Ziploc bag and cut off the tip to use for piping.

5. Fill tomatoes with mixture.

6. Wrap tomatoes with spinach leaf and secure with toothpick. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.

7. Enjoy!

These bites are bursting with flavor. They have a much more fresh taste than a real BLT.

I love the mix of the cold tomato with the savory filling. Yummy!

They are so colorful that they brighten up any party, and they are easy to make ahead of time.
